Agnes and I always enjoy visiting the Alu family, who live somewhat near Agnes.

God introduced me to Agnes in August 2004. It was three years after he sent me to Kenya and one year after I had my mud hut built in a remote rural village.

He almost literally dropped Agnes in my lap by having her and Charles (and her three oldest boys) move a mere 30 feet from the door of my mud hut.

It was beyond obvious that God’s desire was for me to love her. My primary focus in Kenya is, after all, to obey and live out what Jesus said was the second greatest commandment - "Love your neighbor as yourself."

God cemented a bond between Agnes and I when she went through through labor on a dirt floor on a cold night in their one-room mud house.

During that night, I was privileged to assist with the birth of her fourth-born son. He was named Duane, after my dad. It's a very special memory for me and happened on Thanksgiving Day.

Through the ensuing years, God has used my relationship with Agnes to stretch me regarding what it means to truly love someone and for that love to never grow weary.

I praise God for his plan and purpose in each one of the relationships he has supernaturally established during my time serving him in Kenya.

It is my honor to bring glory to God through this endeavor.
